1. Manage the daily operations of the Child Development Laboratory programs in the absence of either, Director or Associate Director.

3. Responsible for management and coordination of computerized records of children and their families as required by State of Illinois licensing regulations and NAEYC accreditation.

4. Coordinate the work schedules and provide administrative level supervision of college work study students and other part time students employed by the Child Development Laboratory.

This is a full-time twelve month non-tenured academic professional position.

Position Description: The successful candidate for the position ACES Global Connect (AGC) Program Coordinator will enhance the visibility and stature of international activities within the College of ACES by taking leadership in program coordination and development under the supervision of the Director of the Office of International Affairs.

• Coordinate Workshops, Seminars, and Professional Development activities for AGC

• Support program implementation to fulfill College policies under advisement of the International Activities Policy Committee.

• Creatively explore additional programming opportunities within AGC framework.

• Coordinate programs for the ACES Academy for Global Engagement, a year-long program of international enrichment for faculty and professional staff.

• Serve as the primary point of contact responsible for coordinating schedules for international guests to the College of ACES. Visitors to the college include individual administrators/leaders from foreign institutions and groups sponsored by partners of strategic importance to the College. Coordinate the appropriate delegation of responsibility for visitor events to campus-based or Extension units, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. As required and with assistance of clerical staff, oversee and facilitate the organization of schedules, meetings and facilities, transportation, accommodations and meals, and other logistical arrangements, and work with the AGC team to provide appropriate publicity for events.

• Provide support to build or maintain international institutional relationships in which the College of ACES has strategic interests, pursuant to formal or informal agreements. Coordinate programming to support these relationships, and assist in linking faculty at Illinois with institutions globally. Assist the Director with appropriate follow-through, including coordination of possible exchanges, development of institutional agreements, or implementation of agreements for educational activities in Illinois or on site in host countries. The candidate will be responsible for attending to these requests and follow-through with the appropriate offices within the University and externally.

• Interact with International Programs and Studies (IPS) offices at the campus level, as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience

• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills

• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work as a part of a team

• Must be able to do minimal domestic and international travel

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional or student relevant international experience.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

Two Positions

The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) at the University of Illinois has two openings for a visiting project coordinator. This position reports to the Director of OCCRL and supports the work of the Office which involves research, program evaluation, dissemination, and technical assistance. The position supports research and development projects that address youth and adult transition, access, and outcomes at the secondary and postsecondary levels, and the professional development of faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders. This position is funded by grant dollars and continuance is dependent on the successful solicitation and receipt of external funding.

This position requires knowledge of and experience with educational research; excellent communication, problem solving, and time management skills; and the ability to work in a fast paced and self-directed environment. Library search skills and proficiency with word processing, presentation, and database software is needed.

Knowledge of statistical packages is preferred. Responsibilities include coordination, participation in, and management of research studies; the publication of technical reports, research briefs and newsletters, and the dissemination of results via meeting and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with grant writing experience.

Applicants should have a background in education policy, program evaluation, and a broad knowledge of secondary and postsecondary education. Several years of experience in one or more of these areas is desirable. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Salary is negotiable based on education and experience. This is a full-time, 12 month academic professional position. Preferred start date is January 16, 2009.
