Auditions set for 'Hansel and Gretel' theater camp

EFFINGHAM – Children entering grades one through 12 are invited to audition for a production of "Hansel and Gretel" later this summer as part of a theater camp at the Rosebud Theatre in Effingham.

The deadline to pre-register for the summer theater camp, presented by the Missoula Children's Theatre, is July 11.

The camp will be Aug. 4 through 9, with the performance at 6 p.m. Aug. 9. Open auditions will be from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 4, and camp hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fifty to 60 kids will be cast for on stage and backstage in costuming, make-up and assistant directing.

The camp fee of $55 includes lunch and snacks, a T-shirt and theatrical instruction, with an emphasis on creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem.
