Danville Housing Authority sets health and safety fair Thursday
DANVILLE – Danville Housing Authority residents are invited to a summer health and safety fair on Thursday at the Fair Oaks public housing complex.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the pavilion at the complex, 1607 Clyman Lane, Danville. The pavilion is near the basketball courts.
It is being sponsored by the Lakeview College of Nursing, the Vermilion County Health Department and the housing authority.
A number of groups will provide a wide range of health and safety information.
Among them are the Danville Fire Department, which will take a fire truck and provide fire safety tips; the Danville Police Department, which will provide bike inspections and safety instructions and register children's bikes; the Vermilion County Sheriff's Department, which will take the DARE car and provide child car seat instruction; and Medix Ambulance, which will take an ambulance and provide first aid tips.
Representatives from area health care agencies also will be on hand to offer information on health and their services. In addition, Lakeview students will provide games and face-painting for children.
