Justice system makes switch to new software
URBANA – If there's a sense of tension emanating from certain employees at the Champaign County Courthouse this week, don't take it personally. Several of them will be getting their first real taste of new computer software that's been in the works for five years.
Today is the "go live" date for the circuit clerk, probation, public defender and circuit court employees, the last of the justice system to make the switch. The state's attorney's office has been using the software for more than a couple of years. The sheriff's office also has a compatible version that has been in use more than three years.
