Clock tower's contractor will pay for jury snafu
URBANA – Neither jurors nor taxpayers will be stuck with the bill for a communications snafu at the Champaign County Courthouse.
Presiding Judge Tom Difanis ordered 66 would-be jurors sent home June 2 because the jury assembly room, just below the courthouse's clock tower, was filled with workers and equipment being used for the tower's renovation.
