Northrup said an autopsy will be performed today in Bloomington, with an inquest to be held at a later date.

The death is being investigated by the Champaign County coroner's office and the Champaign County sheriff's office, with help from a state police crime technician.

"We are investigating as a probable homicide at this time," said Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh. "We are investigating, with the assistance of the state police."

Champaign County sheriff's deputies have closed a portion of Dupage Street near McLean Street as they continue their investigation.
