Two Danville men hurt in when truck runs into tree
PENFIELD – Two Danville men were injured when their car struck a tree in rural Penfield on Monday morning.
Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh said emergency personnel were called to a crash north of Penfield near the intersection of County Roads 3100N and 2700E at 8:10 a.m. Monday.
According to a police report, the driver, Eric Clawson of Danville, was heading south when he lost control of the car at a location where the road curves.
The car left the road and struck a tree.
Walsh said Clawson and a passenger, Jonathan Nance of Danville, were taken by ambulance to Carle Foundation Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
Clawson was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
