Wine event proceeds to benefit UI hospitality program
URBANA – The local fifth annual celebration of a French wine release will be Nov. 23.
The Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration will include French wine and a cold buffet for $75 per person. Proceeds are for the University of Illinois' Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition's hospitality management program.
The event will be in the Spice Box room of Bevier Hall, 905 S,. Goodwin Ave., U, starting at 7 p.m. Nov. 23.
Parking is available after 5 p.m. in the parking garage at the corner of Gregory and Dorner.
Jean-Louis Ledent, executive chef for the hospitality management and dietetics programs, and his students will prepare and serve items such as jumbo shrimp, whole poached salmon, frog leg salad, peppered beef filet, mushrooms, pates, cheeses, fresh fruits and desserts.
