House panel unanimously recommends governor's impeachment

SPRINGFIELD – A legislative committee unanimously recommended impeachment for Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday, setting up a vote that could make him the first governor to suffer such a fate in the state's long, sordid political history.
A vote to impeach, which could come this morning in the Illinois House, would trigger a Senate trial to decide whether the second-term Democrat should be removed from office. Full story »
