Charge against activist Thompson dismissed
URBANA – A Champaign County judge this afternoon dismissed the more serious of two criminal charges lodged against Patrick Thompson, removing the threat of prison for the community activist.
Judge Harry Clem said the prosecutor had not presented enough evidence on the count of home invasion lodged against the 39-year-old Champaign man to even send it to the jury.
