U of I bomb squad detonates old blasting cap
TUSCOLA – A police bomb squad detonated a blasting cap at the Douglas County Sheriff's office earlier this week.
A farmer brought a blasting cap to the sheriff's office Monday after finding it in his barn, said Douglas County's Sgt. Dick Bickel.
"His dad used to blow up tree stumps with dynamite and blasting caps," Bickel said, adding the man found it while cleaning.
