Gunshot victim's death ruled homicidal
URBANA – The death of an Urbana man who had been shot in January was ruled homicidal by a coroner's jury Thursday in Urbana.
Champaign County Deputy Coroner Joseph Ward said Paris Thompson, 35, of the 1700 block of East Florida Avenue, Urbana, was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. Jan. 23 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Autopsy results showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and there was no evidence of close-range wounds indicating that any were self-inflicted, he said.
