Jury acquits Thompson of sexual abuse after an hour
URBANA – A Champaign County jury this afternoon acquitted community activist Patrick Thompson, 39, of Champaign of criminal sexual abuse.
The jury deliberated about an hour before returning its verdict. It was Thompson's third trial on a charge alleging that on Aug. 24, 2004, he entered his neighbor's apartment at 1702 E. Colorado Ave., U, and fondled her.
