Panel denies permit for temporary campsite
GIBSON CITY – Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals turned down a request for a special use permit sought by Marc Petersen to establish a temporary camp site behind his bar and restaurant at the southern edge of the city's business district.
Petersen sought to use the unimproved rear part of his property to house camping vehicles belonging to construction workers at the One Earth Energy ethanol plant on the city's west side. His plans called for removing sod, leveling the ground, adding gravel, installing security lights and providing water, sewer and electrical hookups.
