Man arrested in theft of police chief's gun
URBANA – A Champaign man remains jailed in Urbana after being arrested for stealing the Champaign police chief's gun out of his locked car last week.
James L. Wilson, 18, who listed an address in the 2800 block of West Kirby Avenue, was charged Monday in Champaign County Circuit Court with burglary and possession of a stolen weapon for breaking into R.T. Finney's city-issued car on May 15 and stealing his .40-caliber Glock handgun.
