Drier conditions expected after drenching rains
RURAL ARTHUR – A stiff breeze blew clouds across a fair blue sky and whistled in the trees Thursday – and pushed white-capped waves along the surface of lake-like flooding near Arthur.
The water stood higher than fields, fences and pastures, sometimes surging higher than the signs marking the roads beneath. It's a result of heavy rains to the area in the last few days and has marooned houses, inundated bridges and made travel difficult.
