Man dies after car swept off rural road
HUMBOLDT – A Mattoon man who thought he could make it through standing water on a rural road in northern Coles County drowned Thursday.
Coles County Coroner Mike Nichols said Ralph Idleman, 71, was driving a car near the intersection of Coles County roads 1600 N and 500 E about 3 miles east of Humboldt when his car got swept off the road.
