Man pleads innocent to abusing baby girl
URBANA – A man accused of abusing his infant daughter claimed he was rubbing the girl's belly to calm her, a prosecutor said in court Thursday.
Morgan Garlick, 26, who listed an address in the 200 block of West Green Street, was arraigned and pleaded innocent Thursday to a Class X felony charge of aggravated battery to a child under age 13. Judge John Kennedy set bond at $500,000 for Garlick, who is due to return to court for a pretrial hearing Aug. 5.
