Call to Crimestoppers leads to arrest
CHAMPAIGN – A former Urbana man already sentenced to 20 years in prison for one drug crime is accused of again having drugs and also fighting with police.
Shamere Douglas, 20, whose last known address was in the 1100 block of Dodson Drive in Urbana, was sentenced in absentia on May 21 by Judge Heidi Ladd to 20 years for delivery of a controlled substance. The judge said Douglas would have received a maximum sentence of 12 years if he had showed up for the sentencing hearing. She also issued a warrant for his arrest.
