Two vying to be Vermilion County auditor
DANVILLE – Vermilion County Auditor Linda Lucas Anstey has a to-do list to complete before she gives up her seat.
"The county still has unfinished business," Anstey said. "Under the past regime, the financial records kind of got in a disarray and I'm still trying to straighten them out. I feel it would be a disservice to people until I straighten out the records."
But opponent Stephen Green said he wants to give voters another option besides Anstey, who has held her seat for nearly 20 years.
"A lot of time, some people run unopposed, you don't have a choice," Green said. "I tried to make a run for office to give somebody a choice. I think I could do the county job better than she's done."
