Gifford woman sentenced to probation in fatal crash

URBANA – A Gifford woman who killed a 9-year-old Chicago boy in a traffic accident more than a year ago was sentenced Friday to 30 months of probation.

A Champaign County jury had convicted Melissa Darr, 43, of reckless homicide in September for causing the May 25, 2007, death of Raymundo Vazquez Jr.
