Lawmakers pledge to pursue impeachment if governor doesn't resign
Area legislators today promised to pursue impeachment against Rod Blagojevich if he refuses to step down.
The Illinois House should start impeachment proceedings when it meets in special session Monday if the governor won't resign, and "knowing him, I'm not sure he will," said state Rep. Naomi Jakobsson, D-Urbana.
