Officials delay decision on candidacies in Danville
DANVILLE – The Danville electoral board was prepared Wednesday to decide whether to disqualify two candidates, one for Danville city council and the other for city treasurer, but legal questions were raised about the validity of objections filed against the candidates.
The three-member electoral board decided that, considering the circumstances and legal questions involved, more time was needed to study the situation before making a final decision, and the hearing was continued until 9 a.m. Jan. 7 at the Vermilion County Courthouse Annex, 6 N. Vermilion St., Danville.
