Police cite dozens in Champaign bars over the weekend
CHAMPAIGN – Police cited 66 people for underage drinking in a Campus/Tap bar check in Champaign over the weekend.
State troopers and Champaign police conducted the joint operation Friday. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the program pays for officers to be hired back on overtime to conduct the liquor enforcement inspections.
