Parkland's award-winning program used in mentoring schools
CHAMPAIGN – Kathy Grenda and Lois McGinley visited Parkland College on Monday and Tuesday to see how it helps prepare students to succeed in their college courses.
The two administrators from Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich., near Detroit, learned about the programs at Parkland's Center for Academic Success, which provides tutoring, advising and courses for students who aren't quite ready for college work. They were looking for ideas they could take back to their own school.
