Champaign school officials: Redistricting at least a year away
CHAMPAIGN — At 1 p.m. Saturday, eighth-grader Caitlin Pope still didn’t know what high school she would be attending come fall.
But by 3 p.m. she did.
Champaign school district officials have pushed back redistricting plans for at least a year after parents raised concerns Saturday over transportation issues, the lack of notice and public input as well as the impact a new future high school would have on the plans.
