Veterinarian due back in court as jury unable to reach verdict
URBANA – An Effingham veterinarian accused of a 2007 sexual assault that happened in rural Urbana is due back in court March 10 after a Champaign County jury couldn't agree on a verdict Friday.
Mark Ballman, 37, a husband and father of three, was charged with criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse for conduct that occurred at a University of Illinois veterinary medicine social event on Oct. 4 and 5, 2007.
