Power restored after outage in Champaign
CHAMPAIGN – About 100 customers were without power Friday morning as crews repaired a broken wire at Alagna and Eureka streets in Champaign.
Leigh Morris, spokesman for Ameren Illinois Utilities, said an outage affecting 27 customers was caused by the broken wire at 10:10 a.m. Friday. While crews worked on the repair, service was interrupted for about 100 customers, but their power was restored by 12:27 p.m., as soon as the repair was complete, he said.
