Outage pushes UI board to seek stimulus money for electricity
URBANA – A weekend power outage at the Urbana campus prompted University of Illinois trustees to add a new project to their economic stimulus wish list: a new or expanded power plant.
Board Chairman Niranjan Shah directed administrators Wednesday to request economic stimulus funding from the state for another power plant so the campus can avoid future outages.
