Tax revenue shortfall will force deeper cuts in Danville
DANVILLE – Plummeting tax revenues have city officials scrambling to cut another $300,000 from a budget that has already endured more than $1 million in reductions, including the loss of 24 city jobs.
Mayor Scott Eisenhauer said Tuesday that he does not know yet where to find another $300,000, but he will begin by reviewing whether the city can go without filling the positions of employees who recently retired or voluntarily separated from the city.
