Department of Human Services closing Paxton office
PAXTON – A month after Baltimore Aircoil announced it was closing its plant in Paxton, putting 223 people out of work, the state Department of Human Services said Monday it will close its office in Paxton.
The office, known as the Family Community Resource Center, serves about 1,300 Ford County residents who receive food stamps, Medicaid and other state-funded social services. It will close by May 21, according to Marielle Sainvilus, a spokeswoman for DHS.
