Newell Township highway commissioner's trial delayed
DANVILLE – The criminal case against the outgoing Newell Township highway commissioner, Pete Powell, was delayed again Friday in Vermilion County Circuit Court.
Powell, who leaves office next month when his term ends – he did not seek re-election this month – faces official misconduct and theft charges in connection with his position as highway commissioner.
