Fire destroys pickup truck, camper on Interstate 57
TOLONO – It took firefighters from two departments to put out a truck fire Thursday afternoon in rural Tolono.
According to a Tolono Fire Department report, Doug Fricker of Homerton was driving a Ford pickup truck pulling a 25-foot camper trailer carrying propane tanks on Interstate 57 when an apparent mechanical failure caused the truck to catch on fire near Monticello Road at 3 p.m. Thursday.
