I don't care what color you are! You come at me with a huge knife and I have a gun you bet I'm going to shoot. It's called self preservation. That guy got exactly what he deserved. Find a different card other than the race card to play on this one!!

I agree completely. That man was looking for one thing and one thing only when he jumped out of his vehicle with a big knife. You just don't do things like that. I am glad to see that the police officers stood up for themselves. I think that the way they handled it will show future "homicidal" people what they'll be up against. Forget all the tasers and bullets that are made from rubber. Here in Illinois if you're looking for trouble you can certainly find it!
But thats just my opinion and i'm sure not everyone will agree.

I also hope that each of the departments with officers involved in this incident don't cave in. The officers did their jobs. Don't settle out of court, don't let some liberal lawyer from Chicago try to pry undeserving money from the taxpayers.

Are you kidding me??
Really ,,what should one do when a lunatic comes towards one yielding a machete????
Wait, and see what he wants to say ??
Actions do speak louder than words--
Kudos to the Police for their professional reflex regarding this "off the wall" drama!

It is truly disconcerting to see people who have no regard for human life. Police officers have a job to do protect and serve. This man was not committing a crime by being at the gas station in a town that apparently is exclusively for whites or what is commonly known as a sundown town. He was deemed suspicious because it was too late for a black person to be in their town, even just to get gas, thus they set him up for the kill. If they only wanted him to clarify why he was there the original klan trained officer could have gone into the gas station and talked to him. Instead the officer choose to provoke yet another black man into self defense because there was no probable cause to follow him, stop him and certainly not to kill him.
My prayers continue to be with his family.

I bet the Klan member police departments paid the coroners jury off. Yep,that must be it! Sad that the lawyer from Chicago is preying on the Kaiyewu's families grief. I know they want justice but that lawyer I bet is bleeding the family dry, trying to get them "justice". Give me another 3 thousand dollars and we'll get that civil case going I bet she said....Pathetic!

svelte1:
you must be talking about another story in another state because this person WAS NOT stopped at a gas station, HE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!! Also, HE GOT OUT OF HIS CAR AND WAS THE AGGRESSOR!!! He tried to run over the cop with his car!! What was the police supposed to do, say oops, he didn't mean to do that.
This was all documented on the dash cam of the Villa Grove police car, unfortunately the only squad car that had a camera.
