Coroner's jury finds Kaiyewu shooting 'justifiable homicide'
DANVILLE – A Vermilion County Coroner's jury decided Wednesday morning that the death of Oluwatofunmi Kaiyewu was a justifiable homicide, but the attorney representing Mr. Kaiyewu's family called the proceeding "appalling."
Attorney Jan Susler of Chicago said she wasn't surprised by the decision, adding that the coroner's inquest was part of a white-washing of the killing of a black man.
