Chinese woman sets family's American story in stone
A young woman, newly married, arrived in Illinois in 1949 full of American dreams.
Sixty years later, many of Jean Chin's dreams have been fulfilled. She has successful children, who went on to have their own successful children. She and George Chin owned restaurants such as Hong Kong Restaurant in Champaign, and saw them flourish over the years, helping introduce the community to the tastes of Cantonese Chinese food.
