SADORUS – Champaign County sheriff's deputies are looking for the driver of a sport utility vehicle who hit a Savoy woman riding a bike Monday morning.
Champaign County sheriff's Capt. Tim Voges said Sherry Helfer, 62, was the last in a line of three bicyclists riding west on County Road 600 N, also known as the Sadorus Slab, about a half mile west of U.S. 45 about 9:30 a.m. when a sport utility vehicle hit Helfer's rear tire. She was thrown from her bike, and the driver kept going.
