CHICAGO — John A. Rogers, a University of Illinois professor in material sciences and an world leader in developing "flexible electronics," is among 24 recipients of this year's MacArthur Foundation "genius grants."
The 42-year-old Flory-Founder Chair and his team of researchers at the UI have in recent years been working on ultrasmall inorganic light-emitting diodes, electronic eye cameras and stretchable integrated circuits. Their work may some day lead to high-resolution home theater displays, wearable health monitors and biomedical imaging devices, according to a recent article in Inside Illinois.
