82-year-old Navy vet receives honorary high school diploma
GIBSON CITY – Howard Arthur Monical Sr. of Gibson City has seen more of the world in his 82 years than most people ever will.
As he drank coffee recently wearing a Korean veteran's cap, he told harrowing stories of serving in the Navy during three wars – World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
