131-year-old clock will be ready to take its spot in new tower

University of Illinois Professor Bruce Hannon is helping restore the original Champaign County Courthouse clock. This is the second time Hannon has helped on the clock; the first time was in 1975.

URBANA – Job opening: Keeper of the clock. Must be able to climb seven stories and spend at least 20 minutes winding a massive clock.

The keeper need only work one day a week. It takes that long for weights to fall in the Champaign County Courthouse's 1877 Seth Thomas timepiece.
