Former firefighter pleads guilty to arson charge

LODA – Volunteer firefighters in this quiet farming community in southern Iroquois County were in disbelief a year and three months ago when they learned that one of their own had been arrested for arson.
The shock was still lingering on Friday afternoon, after they learned that former firefighter Steven M. Stout admitted in Iroquois County Circuit Court that he set one of the 12 suspicious blazes reported in and around Loda in fall 2007.
