Podoll retiring after 41 years of ministry in area

BROADLANDS – The Rev. Lynn Podoll of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Broadlands will retire Monday after 41 years of ministry within the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Podoll is the 16th minister in the church's 132-year history. Podoll said that in his 41 years of ministry, he has developed more patience and a deeper understanding of his beliefs.

First Presbyterian Church of Tolono celebrates 150 years

Sunday afternoon will find the members of the First Presbyterian Church of Tolono holding hands in a circle around their church.

Times have changed. Shortly before the Civil War, the congregation was so at odds over slavery that it could not worship together.
